Pool ladders are always exposed to outdoor elements, such as rain and snow. What’s more, some ladders receive direct sunlight for several hours throughout the day. Outdoor elements combined with sun exposure can cause rust to form on your ladder. In fact, it’s not uncommon for ladders to develop rust after one or two years. Purchasing a plastic pool ladder is one way to avoid rust, but most pool ladders are metal. You can replace the ladder to get rid of unsightly rust. But why spend money when you can remove rust from the ladder?
Removing rust from pool ladders is simple and quick and you can create an effective solution with ordinary household products.
1. Remove the ladder from the pool.
2. Fill a bucket with warm water. Add a cup of baking soda and a cup of household cleaner to the water. Mix the solution to create a paste.
3. While wearing rubber gloves, generously apply the paste to the pool ladder. Be sure to cover all rusted areas.
4. Scrub the pool ladder with an abrasive sponge or cloth to loosen the rust.
5. Rinse the ladder with a garden hose and completely dry the ladder with a cloth.
Because pool ladders are prone to rust, you can apply a wax coating (automotive wax) to the ladder after drying. This protective coating can prevent future rust problems.
Our love for outdoor pools is endless and getting inspired by stars is usually something we do in order to keep our minds fresh and look at the top of the crop.
Apparently this Beverly Hills pool costs her $25k a month and we are sure that once the Lady Gaga Tour is done the misses will hang here 24×7.
Summertime is here, and so is the heat!
Many people choose to cool off by taking a nice, relaxing dip in the pool, but there are many people who have yet to buy a swimming pool. If you desire a swimming pool that is relatively inexpensive to buy, without high maintenance costs associated with "in-ground" pools, an outdoor above-ground pool just might be the pool for you.
Above-ground pools are easy to build and cost less to construct compared to in-ground pools. The majority of these pools are sold as kits which can be assembled by someone with no prior pool building experience. Some above-ground pools are portable, and can be easily moved whenever required. There are different types of above-ground pools to choose from including: metal side, inflatable ring and frame set pools.
Metal side pools are made of a thick vinyl lining, and sheet metal. The sheet metal is reinforced by metal railings along the wall. A thick lining is placing inside the pool and reinforced onto the pool rails. The pool can be filled with water after the lining is installed. One advantage to a metal side pool, is that they can withstand more force and wear than a soft material pool. Metal side pools are available in various diameters and are usually up to four feet in depth.
Inflatable ring pools have soft sides, and come assembled ready to be inflated with an air pump. After the pool is filled with air, it is ready to be filled with water with no additional work required. An advantage to owning an inflatable ring pool, is that the pool can rise in depth, to accommodate the amount of water in the pool. Also, this type of above-ground outdoor pool, can easily be transported to another location at will. One disadvantage to owning an inflatable ring pool however, is they are susceptible to punctures due to the soft material. A patch kit should be purchased when buying an inflatable pool, to repair it in the event of a puncture.
Frame set pools are soft sided pools that are made of either plastic or metal tubing. The tubes are assembled into a frame that includes a railing, which extends across the diameter of the pool. The vinyl lining is then fitted over the pool frame and attached tightly. After the lining is installed, the pool can be filled with water.
Long summer days are in, and the kids are out- out of school that is. Combine the two, and it can only mean one thing- time to get the pool ready! For the adventurous ones, the Intex Spray and Splash Whale Pool is a great pool, though the Sizzlin' Cool Spray Pool appears to be a bit larger. Whichever way you decide to go, remember- it's splash time!
Summer is just around the corner, and it’s time to start thinking of the best, easiest and most affordable way to find quick relief from the heat. How about an inflatable swimming pool which offer hours of fun in your own backyard? You can jump in at any time of the day and multiple times each day if desired, without the hassle of packing up clothes, towels, and snacks, and driving to the local pool or beach, typically being used by everyone else who doesn’t own a pool at home. As the price of gas continues to rise, backyard summer fun never looked so good.
Easy to install, a cordless pump can be used that has the capacity to inflate the pool when you are ready to set it up, as well as deflate the pool for a quick take-down. Inflatable pools are a low maintenance investment, paying high dividends in the fun and entertainment category for you and your family. These pools are also portable, easy to throw into the car trunk and take to Aunt Sue’s house for the week. There is not the added expense of adding chemicals during the off season to winterize, as is needed with an in-ground pool, as your inflatable pool can be packed away at the end of summer.
Inflatable pools are available in a variety shapes and sizes, depending on the needs of those using the pool. Wading pools are available for toddlers to splash around in and often are spacious enough for other children or an adult to also sit in and enjoy the water fun. On the other end of the continuum, there are large circular and rectangular pools big enough to hold the gang and deep enough to use for a mini work-out. These larger pools require a ladder for ease of getting in and out of the pool safely, as well as a filtration system and skimmer to keep the pool free of dirt and debri.
Many of these pools can be seen at your local home and garden or toy stores, already put together. If available, they can be purchased on the spot, taken home, set up, and used on the same day. If you prefer, they can also be purchased on-line. Inflatable pools are cost effective, durable, and provide fun for all.
